Who we are
Passion Projects SF is a hybrid gallery, shop, and community space dedicated to the personal creative work of VFX artists worldwide. We showcase paintings, sculptures, photographs, ceramics, and stories that reveal the full creative lives of the painters, sculptors, photographers, and makers behind cinema's most iconic imagery. We connect the film industry's creative legacy with contemporary fine art, within the heart of the Bay Area art community.
Right Now
Our online gallery is live and growing — featuring selected works, artist interviews, and process videos that illuminate both the personal practices and specialized disciplines of VFX artists. Our online shop is coming soon, where you'll be able to purchase original artwork, artist-made creations, and PPSF gear.
2026 and Beyond
Our inaugural exhibition is coming to Sightline at Pier 29 in San Francisco, Fall 2026.
Here's what else we're building toward:
Gallery Shows • Rotating exhibitions of artists' personal work, with new voices introduced throughout the year.
VFX Legacy Wall & Community Space • A photo and video installation celebrating artists' defining contributions to cinema from ILM, Pixar, Tippett Studios, and beyond, with film screenings and artist reels. A community space where visitors and VFX pros alike can share stories and learn more about our day jobs and featured Passion Projects.
Retail • Prints, books, ceramics, textiles, and other merchandise, all made by featured artists
Events & Workshops • Artist talks, panel discussions, live drawing nights, and intimate screenings. Online classes and hands-on workshop classes hosted by featured artists and vfx colleagues.

Passion projects sf FAQ
What makes Passion Projects SF different from other art galleries?
PPSF is the only platform dedicated exclusively to the personal creative work of VFX artists worldwide. Unlike traditional galleries, every artist at PPSF has spent their career shaping the visual language of film and television. Each artist profile includes links to their personal website and social media so you can follow their work directly.
Where can I see and buy work by VFX artists?
PassionProjects.art features original paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, and more. Our online shop is coming soon, and our inaugural gallery exhibition opens in San Francisco in Fall 2026, with a pop-up preview in late October.
Do you host events and programming?
Yes. PPSF hosts artist talks, demonstrations, workshops, mentorships, and screenings that celebrate both the personal and professional creative lives of VFX artists — available in person in San Francisco and online.
